Piscinas Beach, Costa Verde, Sardinia
Located in the Medio Campidano province (municipality of Arbus), the 4 Star Le Dune Piscinas Ecoresort sits on the golden beach of Piscinas, a stretch of shore several kilometres long, surrounded by among Europe’s highest dunes. Piscinas forms part of the Sardinian south-western coastline, between Capo Pecora and Capo Frasca, called Costa Verde.
The Dune Piscinas Hotel can be reached easily from any of Sardinia’s ports and airports. Along freshly paved roads you can reach the mine of Ingurtosu, a once prosperous and dynamic mining village, now quiet and abandoned. After crossing Ingurtosu, you reach the Laveria Brassey washing plant in Naracauli village, where the tarmac road gives way to an unpaved scenic road. The road takes you along the ancient railway on which minerals were transported from the washplant directly to the storages located on the sea. Running alongside the Juniper, Pistacia Lentiscus, Asphodel and Helichrysum italicum covered dunes for another 7 kilometres (4 miles), you finally reach the Piscinas beach where the Hotel is situated.
