ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Federico Carta – Crisa was born in Sardinia in 1984.
A self-taught artist, he began experimenting with drawing as a child. At the age of 12, he started painting graffiti on walls, and a few years later, he also dedicated himself to painting on reclaimed materials and canvas.
Over time, he continued his artistic exploration in urban spaces, developing themes related to nature as well as the metropolis.
He experiments with various techniques and materials, developing a personal style of research and expression. His paintings address themes such as urban decay, the environment, pollution, and the relationship between humans and nature. These themes take shape primarily within an urban context, represented through numerous symbols from his poetic imagination: antennas, washing machines, factories, buildings, desolate areas, and landfills.

Over the years, he has participated in numerous international projects, collaborating with festivals, cultural institutions, and local communities, creating murals and site-specific works in cities and peripheral areas around the world, including Rio de Janeiro, Mexico, and Southeast Asia with the Tracce Asia 2562 project.
In 2024, he created the series of site-specific installations titled Cartogramma, which led to his permanent inclusion in the collection of MUSMA, the Museum of Contemporary Sculpture in Matera, and earned him the Critics’ Prize at the Progetto Destino Biennale at the Stazione dell’Arte in Ulassai.
